South West Design Review Panel

HomeDesign actionDesign review and enablingSouth West Design Review Panel

Design review in the South West is provided on a regional basis by the South West Design Review Panel, managed by Creating Excellence.

The Chair of the Panel is Peter Clegg, co-founder of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios of Bath and London which was recently named Architectural Practice of the Year. The Vice- Chair is MJ Long, architect of the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. Peter Clegg and MJ Long lead a 30-strong Panel that brings together a wealth of expertise in architecture, planning and urban design.

The Panel is affiliated with the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE). It is one of eight regional design review panels to be linked to the CABE national design review panel. All share a commitment to high standards of service in design review and observe 10 key principles for design review. CABE and the regional panels retain their independence but work together particularly on the allocation of cases.

The Regional panel for the South West is regularly held at the Architecture Centre in Bristol but also meets at other venues in the region. It is operated and managed by Creating Excellence. For more information contact the panel manager Timothy Cantell on 01823 25082O.
