Design Leadership
The Design Leadership training programme is a collaboration between Creating Excellence, CABE and the two architecture centres in the South West to support the delivery of good design in the region. It offers local authorities a route to design excellence, and is particularly aimed at those working in the Key Growth Areas. The programme provides an opportunity to reinforce skills and knowledge, to build on existing strengths, and to identify key actions.
The aim of the Design Leadership programme is to deliver training that includes both core content (knowledge and skills) relating to common learning needs in an authority, and action planning for change around design. While addressing specific issues the programme retains a core theme of ‘Design Leadership’, to highlight the role of the Design Champion, to gather a network of support and to identify design needs.
