HOME FOR A HERO PROJECT
Each
year we run the Home for a Hero project with local primary schools.
It is an exciting collaboration between the Architecture Centre,
local Architects and Structural Engineers and Primary Schools.
The industry professionals go into primary schools for six, half
day sessions and support the children in the design and construction
of a model home for their hero.
The children have the opportunity to learn about Built Environment
careers, drawing to scale, drawing plans and elevations, construction
methods and materials and working as part of a team. All the models
are exhibited at the end of the project and prizes are awarded
to pupils at a celebratory awards ceremony.
