Today there is growing recognition of the impact that the built environment has on public health. Planning and design can play a pivotal role in tackling today’s urgent challenges such as sedentary lifestyles, obesity and health inequality. Housing growth and regeneration provide opportunities to ‘build in’ health from the start and to improve existing environments. This sell-out conference brought together professionals, academics and policy-makers to share inspirational stories of success and identify how we can work together more effectively.
