Recovering Bristol's Lost Quarter

HomeEvents Archive 2010Recovering Bristol's Lost Quarter

Debate: Wednesday 3 February 2010, 18.30, £5/£3

As new proposals for this central Bristol park emerge, what might the future be for Castle Park?

There are arguments for changing its form based on its ancient use and there are areas which need revitalising, however it has become a well-loved resource for local workers and other Bristolians. In its present form the park is the result of the tragic wartime destruction of the centre of Bristol; it is surrounded by roads and hostile buildings that turn their back on the park. Together with Temple Way and Marriott Hotel site, the park separates Old Market from its historic position as part of the city centre.

How might changes to the park and its surroundings bring this lost quarter back to life?
