Rednock School

Talk: Thursday 25 February 2010, 18.30, £5/£3
Rednock School opened its door to students in September 2009, following a two-year Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. This has been a complex and intense process, with construction taking place just three metres away from the existing, operational secondary school, and on a site with an extremely sensitive environmental background – cotaminated land, protected trees, flora, fauna and habitat issues.
The new building has many sustainable elements including a green roof, rain water harvesting, biomass boiler and thermal insulation.
Jane Lock-Smith, Founder and Director of Cube Design Ltd will discuss the challenges and successes of this exciting new sustainable school development.
