How can we make most effective use of suburban land?

Former RIBA president Sir Richard MacCormac believes that the ‘suburban dream’ can be achieved by building at much higher densities than is currently the norm. Here he presents the findings of his practice’s recent Sustainable Suburbia report and ongoing research into how a ‘three dimensional’ planning approach could create sustainable garden suburbs that are both walkable and well-connected.
