ACOUSTICS: WHY DO BUILDINGS SOUND LIKE THEY DO?

19:30, Wednesday 25 February
Discussion, £3.00/£2.00

Ze Nunes of Mach Acoustics will present an audible demonstration of how the mysterious science of sound works in buildings. The presentation will reveal how our ears are peculiar devices and why that makes acoustics hard for us to understand intuitively. New demands on buildings are driving expectations for high quality environments with improved acoustic performance. Whilst providing excellent ‘CPD’ the event will also be engaging for anyone interested in this area. This will be a fresh and inspirational approach to presenting what has otherwise been understood as a dry and difficult science.
