COMPTON
VERNEY
Visit: Friday 30 September, 10.00 – 18.00
A Grade 1-listed 1760s mansion house designed by Robert Adam,
Compton Verney is set in 120 acres of classical parkland landscaped
by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
Ten years ago the building was derelict, but has now been transformed
into a gallery of international standing with over twenty gallery
spaces, a shop and café, and purpose-built learning centre.
Compton Verney is unique in that it is a place where art, architecture,
landscape and learning fuse, to offer the visitor an experience
that is completely integrated and accessible.
Our visit will include an introductory talk, plus an exclusive
talk by Paul Williams of Stanton Williams Architects, time to
view the collections, lunch in the café, or picnic in the
grounds.
Price includes tickets, coach travel (with toilet facilities)
and talks.
£22.00/£20.00 concessions.
Booking essential. Places to be paid for by Friday 2 September.
