The Architecture Centre and the Cube Cinema have collaborated
to curate a series of films for Architecture Week. We have chosen
documentaries that illustrate the diversity and range of architecture
today and historically.
Films include: ‘My Architect: A Son’s Journey’
by Louis Kahn’s son, Nathaniel; ‘The Architecture
of Mud’, exploring the vernacular architecture of Hadhramaut
in the south east of Yemen well known for its mudbrick architecture;
and ‘Futuro – A New Stance for Tomorrow’, about
the Finnish architect Matti Suuronen whose house of plastic resembled
a flying saucer, reflecting the 60s optimism of space travel.
