How Places Work: Creating a mobile social space

HomeExhibitions Archive 2008How Places Work: Creating a mobile social space

17 June – 13 July 2008

During March 2008 GCSE art students from five schools in South Bristol took part in an exciting art and built environment Saturday School programme, delivered by The Architecture Centre. Working with local artist Frances Bossom the students explored the built environment through photography, building visits, collage techniques, and model-making. The students were given a design brief to create an innovative mobile social space for use by young people.

This exhibition documents the creative processes of the students and examples of their unique creations.

The Saturday School programme formed part of the CABE How Places Work initiative, which has engaged thousands of students nationwide in exciting educational visits to contemporary buildings over the last two years.
