Stokes Croft Public Realm Commissions

Shop gallery
9 - 21 February 2010
In October Bristol City Council and St Paul’s Unlimited put out an international call for expressions of interest from artists, designers and multidisciplinary teams to develop designs for two corner sites in Bristol’s Stokes Croft area. Located at the corner of Jamaica Street and City Road these sites are at the epicentre of the City’s urban art scene. Proposals were sought for the design of the entire space, which could include hard and soft landscape work, and permanent/temporary art works, with an emphasis on high quality design and materials, and on improvements to the public realm.
A judging panel will select three teams to develop concepts for each of the corner sites (up to six designs) from which the final winning designs will be chosen, with the Bristol public.
This exhibition provides one of two opportunities to view the short-listed designs, and to express your preference.
