HENRY SHAFTOE

In the downstairs gallery, researcher Henry Shaftoe asks whether we take comfort from our community’s shared spaces and if these public spaces have the ability to bring us joy.

Shaftoe’s display feature an interactive element where the public is invited to share their thoughts, feelings and experience of public spaces by participating in self-guided walking surveys of the Harbourside.

The results from these surveys will become part of Shaftoe’s research at the Cities Research Centre, Faculty of the Built Environment, University of the West of England and will ultimately be fed back to the Bristol City Council.
