Liz Huyton photographic exhibitionAVONMOUTH REVISITED

Exhibition: Tuesday 25 October - Sunday 20 November

“As a photo artist I have always found the industrial landscape a great source of inspiration. It is all too easy to overlook the elegance and beauty of these constructions as we speed past on our journey from Shirehampton to Aust and beyond, not allowing ourselves time to see.

Both the Bechers, who explore the relationship between shape and form in their documentation of the industrial, and H.C.Bresson, who sought to capture man's interaction with the industrial machine, were intending to make a social statement: my intention is purely creative.

My interest lies in capturing their shape and form to present in a way that allows that dignity and presence to shine through. Working in black and white to emphasise structure and tone and hand printing in a chemical dark room on art classic paper I hope I have gone some way towards achieving this.”
