Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural WorldCCANW’S RE-CYCLED SHED

Exhibition: Tuesday 4 December - Sunday 21 January 2007

The Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World is an innovative educational charity focused on exploring our changing relationship to Nature through the Arts. CCANW has recently entered into an exciting long-term partnership with the Forestry Commission in the Haldon Forest Park, near Exeter, and they are working towards the creation of a new timber building of some distinction in the years ahead.

In the first phase of CCANW establishing itself at Haldon, Architects Harris McMillan took on the challenge of adapting a 40 year-old wooden shed on a tiny budget, using recycled materials, timber from sustainably-managed forests and environmentally-friendly techniques and materials.

This exhibition presents the project, from design to finished space. Next year, CCANW plan an exhibition on the ten most exciting contemporary timber buildings in Europe, which will also be exhibited at The Architecture Centre. For more information on the Centre visit www.ccanw.co.uk
