LAURA
BAXTER - CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY
Exhibition: Tuesday 4 November 4 – Sunday 30 November
Laura Baxter makes silver and gold jewellery inspired by botanical
forms. Seedpods, buds, twigs and leaf structures are abstracted
and magnified in different scales. The work reflects how plants
change and grow throughout the seasons, and many pieces incorporate
sound or moving elements. The intention of the work is to create
wearable elements of nature.
'I collect, draw and photograph natural forms which prompt
me to think about construction, shape and texture in different
metals. A personal relationship with nature is central to my life
and work'
