WALTER JACKGATES PROJECT BY WALTER JACK

Tue 6 April – Sun 2 May 2004

An exhibition of ideas by this artist-maker exploring portals that transform shape as they open. Walter Jack explains ‘We work on a lot of elements for buildings and landscapes - furniture, fences and staircases for instance. They stay put – but gates and doors move. The entranceways in the exhibition explore whether more can be made of this. The ‘catenary entrance’ (illustrated) was discovered by making a loose wire frame and playing with it.’
