WAPPING
WHARF MASTERPLAN
Exhibition: Tuesday 16 December - Sunday 11 January
Umberslade (Wapping Wharf) Ltd is currently working up an overall
masterplan for the Wapping Wharf site including the Industrial
Museum and adjoining waterfront land owned by Bristol City Council.
This important site, which includes remnants of the Old Gaol,
is one of the last remaining development opportunities within
Bristol’s harbourside.
Proposals show a strong urban approach to city living through
a residential led mixed-use scheme. The design conserves the industrial
character of the dock edge, creatively reusing the listed buildings
and structures and encouraging more pedestrian and visitor use.
It features a major new public open space and pedestrian route
through the site as a setting for a landmark building with further
individual buildings that protect and frame key views into, from
and through the site.
