ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The annual Young Architect of the Year Award is now in its seventh
year and aims to discover and reward the best international architects
aged 40 years and under. It is the only competition aimed at qualified
architects looking for recognition at the start of their career.
This exhibition features the five shortlisted entries into the
Awards, including the winner, Viennese architectural practice
Querkraft. The practice take the art of lateral thinking to start
their creative strategies and use the human form as the centre
of their work.
A close second was Danish practice PLOT, and in third place was
London’s Surface Architects.
Two further entries were short-listed by the judging panel: Sarah
Hare and Springett Mackay Architecture.
Richard Scott, founder of Surface Architects, will be speaking
about their practice and about projects featured in the YAYA exhibition.
