Kathie’s work explores ways of combining colour and translucency in polyester resin. ‘Colour in the pieces is created by polyester threads or by the mixing of resin pastes. By leaving some surfaces polished and others matt, the light in the piece reflects and refracts the colour within the resin, allowing the wearer and the observer unexpected contrasts’ Kathie Murphy.
