Testimonials
Spaceshaper
"The Spaceshaper was great, it really guided the children through the process of examining the space in detail and highlighted for them the wide range of considerations that need to be taken into account. It also gave them a whole lot of new knowledge about the possibilities for the design and nature of a public space, this new understanding of what is possible has really been evident in the quality of ideas they have thought of."
Deborah Cook, Lead developer, RIO - Real Ideas Organisation
"The Spaceshaper tool kit was the perfect tool to use with Bradley Stoke Community College, the school has plans to develop their outside spaces and the Spaceshaper workshop and final report has given the young people involved a chance to take their ideas forward in collaboration with the school, to in the future create spaces that they can enjoy as a place to relax and learn. Working with Amy the education manager at the Architecture centre Bristol has given the school a unique opportunity to work with an expert and be part of the development of an exciting and empowering tool for young people to take charge of their spaces and make real changes for them selves."
Elise Hurcombe, Lead developer, RIO - Real Ideas Organisation
"I really enjoyed the session because I don’t often get a say in anything important."

Construction and Built Environment Diploma support
The Kingswood Partnership is a collaboration of 6 secondary schools in South Glos and City of Bristol College. Through Amy Harrison, the Architecture Centre Bristol has provided and contributed to many high quality and innovative work related learning activities. These have included:
- The Grange School Year 8 Eco-Construction Challenge
- The Sir Bernard Lovell Schoo: Year 9 Pre-Diploma visits to UWE
- The Sir Bernard Lovell School Year 11 Mock interviews
- The Sir Bernard Lovell School Years 10 & 11 Sustainable buildings visit
- Kingswood Partnership Construction and Built Environment Employer Consultative Forum
Amy is a driving force in the Construction and Built Environment Diploma Employer Consultative Forum. Already she has facilitated a Year 10 visit to Bristol City Centre, contributed to the virtual learning resource and been instrumental in designing the summer design project for our diploma students.
"The Architecture Centre continues to inspire students and teachers within the Kingswood Partnership and adds considerable value to our employer engagement."
Ronnie Ward, Business Links Manager, The Kingswood Partnership
"Amy Harrison has been a regular contributor to our Employer Engagement Forum meetings and her enthusiasm, knowledge and contacts are proving to be invaluable in creating, or helping us to generate, resources to support the delivery of the Construction and Built Environment Diploma."
"The specification of the CBE Diploma is very dry and without the help and support of the Architecture Centre we would find it very hard to create resources and activities that will bring the Diploma to 'life' for the learners. I have been very lucky to have been able to use some of my students to pilot activities organised by Amy enabling us to tailor them directly to our, and the Diploma, requirements."
Jo Bishop, Construction and the Built Environment Diploma Co-ordinator, City of Bristol College
